The School of Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Operations Research at the Department of Industrial and System Engineering. Operations Research is one of the areas of the Department, together with Operations Management, Economics and Finance, and General Management. Hence, we seek candidates with strong background in the area but, at the same time, ability to interact with other researchers and be able to get involved in relevant applications of Operations Research. Applicants should have (or be currently pursuing studies toward) a PhD in Operations Research or a related area, have potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels and a record of success in, or potential for, scholarly research and publication in leading academic journals. Being able to teach in Spanish in the near future is desirable, but not a requirement.

The School of Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile ranks among the top Latin American engineering institutions. Once the complete set of application materials has been received and reviewed, the applicant will be contacted and informed whether or not his/her application has been accepted for further consideration. If this initial screening is successful, the candidate will be asked to give a lecture about his/her current research topics and be interviewed by faculty members of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, the Dean of the School of Engineering and the Selection Committee.
